1) A subversion is when something of the norm is contradicted, for instance, the author uses the book "Go The Fuck To Sleep" as a subversion for children and adults. This is because most parents would never says that to their young child, even if their thinking it. "Scary Movie" and "Space Balls" are examples of subversive movies, because they make fun of existing movies, and contradict their story lines. For example, "Scary Movie" is making fun of scary movies in a comedic way.
2) I think that "Go the Fuck to Sleep" was a very funny change made to a children's book. I believe the target audience is more for adults, and not for children, because they are too young. Adults understand the hardships that come with raising children, and will find this book comical.
