Chapter 6 of BBG is extremely helpful in regards to writing our research paper. I liked reading that the sources are actually our main starting points. They help us to make informed decisions for our paper and begin the process of generating new ideas. Also, the text was very detailed, and I found that to be beneficial. For example, the chart that explained what examples of primary, secondary, and tertiary sources is most likely something I will reference back to during the writing process. Lastly, I liked the overall point that was reiterated throughout the entire book so far. When writing our own work and evaluating other's, it is crucial to evaluate the rhetorical situation, purpose, audience, mode, and media. Of course, for the research paper, the most important aspect is validity.
For my action plan I will add more pictures to my website and continue to expand on my topic. I also plan to make posters to place around campus to reach outside audiences and use that as my nondigital source. I will continue to work over the weekend to finish the project and best carry out my message on my website.
I agree that reading sources helps find your main topic for your paper, and that this book has been very helpful throughout our writing assignments so far this semester.
