I am very glad to have read chapter 10 because it helped me better understand the whole concept of project 3. I had no idea of how to start the project or what to do until I read this chapter. It explained to me that multi genre is composed of three compositions that revolve around one specific topic. The author throughly explained every step that had to be taken in order to have a good understand multi genre. For example he stated that in a multi genre project, there should be an introduction, introducing the project, context, sequence, title, clear statement, and there should definitely be creativity to draw audiences attention. I also found the examples that were provided to me through the text to be very helpful in helping me choose how to best reach my audience. I hope after reading this chapter that I am able to compose project 3 in a correct and creative manner.
Throughout chapter 1 of “The Bedford Book of Genres,” I learned that there are a variety of ways to improve one’s writing. Several writers tend to get carried away while writing that they forget who their audience is and what message they are trying to deliver. This is when one must ask themselves what their purpose of writing is, do they want to present a narrative/ tell a story, inform, or persuade. After figuring out ones purpose they must choose a genre to be able to shorten their idea and be concise. In order for this to occur one must know the basic qualities and agreed-upon rules about the genre they are composing. Once one makes those decisions they move on to the rhetorical situation which mainly explains the idea.
