This meme poster is hung up in my dorm clearly using humor to tell students that halls should remain quiet between 9pm-9am. This could have easily been a bland "Rules" poster, however, my RA chose repurpose the same message through a different medium.

    I think this poster is very effective because it explains rules in a humorous way. However I think this can be ineffective if someone doesnt understand the meme.

    I think this poster is very effective. This is because it will easily attract people to read it because it is a meme, and it is funny which makes it more fun to read.

Action Plan

Jacqueline Kulle The peer review helped me a lot for my action plan and gave me more ideas and insight on what I should do. I was struggling with what I should do for my subversion, and I got the idea to do a meme or a comic strip. I have to finish and touch up my website, finish my nondigital picture, finish my comic strip, and get more participants for my survey. The peer review was beneficial and now I have a much clear idea on how I should do this project.

Subversion and Redemption. Rachel Klahm

1. Some subversion examples the author mentions are Max in  Where the Wild Things Are and Don Quixote. Other movies that are subversions are  A Haunted House and WALL-E. WALL-E is a subversion because it's a light hearted cartoon with a much deeper meaning. Humans have abused planet Earth with industrial corporations to the point where they must abandon it until robots have cleaned it up. The moral lesson is that technology and industry are bad and if we continue on the path we're on, the Earth will turn into the trash ridden world that is in WALL-E. Despite this, the film is still pro-human. Compared to the usual "humans are bad for nature" lesson, WALL-E  actually shows why Earth needs humans. The movie has no real dialogue from anyone, just robot sounds and intercom voices on the ship that the humans live on.
