 Ayhan, Guilen. et al. “Suicide Risk Among Prisoners in French Guiana: Prevalence and Predictive Factors.” 2017. 17:156 DOI 10.1186/s12888-017-1320-4

 Ayhan claims the suicide risk is high in prisons within the prisons of French Guiana and the predictors correlate with the culture of the inmate. According to Ayhan, there is not much correlation between nationalities of the French Guianan inmates and the Mainland French inmates suicide risk, but there is a lower risk for inmates in the Mainland France to commit suicide. Ayhan conducted his research among 707 prisoners who arrived withing September 2013 and December 2014. Each of the 707 inmates, upon arrival were given the opportunity to see a psychiatrist and a Doctor. With the examination, they were each subject to the Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview (MINI)(2). Where they were interviewed for 17 different disorders(2). The studies purpose was to shine light on prevention for the countries.

Subversion and Redemption. Rachel Klahm

1. Some subversion examples the author mentions are Max in  Where the Wild Things Are and Don Quixote. Other movies that are subversions are  A Haunted House and WALL-E. WALL-E is a subversion because it's a light hearted cartoon with a much deeper meaning. Humans have abused planet Earth with industrial corporations to the point where they must abandon it until robots have cleaned it up. The moral lesson is that technology and industry are bad and if we continue on the path we're on, the Earth will turn into the trash ridden world that is in WALL-E. Despite this, the film is still pro-human. Compared to the usual "humans are bad for nature" lesson, WALL-E  actually shows why Earth needs humans. The movie has no real dialogue from anyone, just robot sounds and intercom voices on the ship that the humans live on. Mary Katherine Rankey annoying ways

The reading "Annoying Ways" is all about the annoying ways people choose to use their sources and the things they can do to change those quirks. The reading discussed the proper ways to cite sources and to cite quotes that the writer uses in their paper. The reading also discusses the importance of where to put a quote. Often times I find the perfect quote, but put it in an awkward place in the sentence, which not only makes my work more sloppy, but also takes away from the message of the quote. The author uses a lot of analogies in his writing to explain how the annoying ways of improper uses of quotes can mimic annoying things in real life. The reading taught me ways I can fix my writing style to fix those annoying habits I have.
