Ayhan, Gulen, et al. "Suicide Risk among Prisoners in French Guiana: Prevalence and Predictive Factors." BMC Psychiatry, Vol 17, No. 1, 2017 DOI 10.1186/s12888-017-1320-4
Ayhan argues that France has the highest suicide rate in prisoners and works to prove this by conducting research in French Guiana. Ayhan explains that Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview (MINI) is used to evaluate prisoners mental health via a short interview. The author stated that “13.2% of inmates had a suicide risk, 14% of which had a high risk” (Ayhan). Ayhan concluded with these findings that French Guiana did, in fact, have a lower suicide rate in prisoners than France did. In addition to that, the author argued that prevention of suicide in prisoners should be monitored and practiced.
Overall, the annotation is well put together including a quote, summary as well as the results. However, the thesis could be a little more clear and defined.
